Sunnah Prayer Ceremony for Education Intervention Programme - The House of Bolkiah

On 6 Rabiulakhir 1447 equivalent to 28 September 2025, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah conducted a Sunat Hajat Prayer Ceremony which is specifically for students who attend tuition classes under the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Education Intervention Programme (PIP) for the entire country.

This year, a total of 305 students who participated in the PIP tuition class project in eight centres nationwide will sit for the public examinations this year, of which 172 students will sit for the Primary School Assessment (Year 6); 50 students will sit for the BCGCE 'O' Level Exam (Year 11); and 83 students will sit for SSSRU.

PIP Foundation's tuition classes focus on learning core subjects to ensure that students get excellent results in exams so that they have the best chance of pursuing higher education. Through the project, students will have the opportunity to attend intensive and free tuition classes every Sunday at eight PIP tuition class centres nationwide.

Present as the guest of honour was Yang Mulia Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs as a Member of the Board of Directors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

The ceremony this morning began with the Sunnah Hajat Prayer, the recitation of Surah Yasin en masse and the recitation of the Examination Prayer led by His Excellency Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustapa bin Haji Murat. The ceremony continued with a tazkirah entitled "Blessing of the Key of Excellence" delivered by Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk, Assistant Ra'es III, Student Affairs and Alumni, Seri Begawan University College of Religious Education.

The Education Intervention Programme (PIP) is one of the efforts of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in implementing the strategic goal of "Supporting Quality and Equitable Education Achievement" specifically to help improve the quality of educational achievement of students from underprivileged families.
