His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, today departed to attend the Joint Council of Claimants and Citizens of Brunei Darussalam in Malaysia, held at the Hyatt Regency, Kuala Lumpur.
Departing to accompany His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is His Majesty's son, His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Mateen.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam showed His Majesty's concern and concern for the welfare of the people and residents through frequent interactions in ceremonies like this.
This departure shows His Majesty's personality as a compassionate and people-spirited king, thus a special moment awaited by students, citizens and residents abroad who uphold his leadership.
The departure was graced by the Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md. Salleh; The Acting High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia, Awang Mohd. Aizul Hakim bin Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Suyoi; and the President of the Brunei Student Association in Malaysia, Dayang Amal Afiqah binti Awang Haji Rusali.
At the ceremony, His Majesty was pleased to give an order to highlight the good obtained by the students through exposure opportunities while pursuing their studies abroad. During independence, it is important to maintain safety and avoid bad incidents.
On success, he said that the true success of a student lies in their ability to develop their potential, covering the intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical aspects.
In this regard, His Majesty expressed his happiness that the students continue to take the opportunity to participate in activities that add to the skills needed by the country.
His Majesty went on to say that, although the use of Artificial Intelligence or AI has had a significant impact on the way of management in the education ecosystem, it should be used with prudence and integrity, and not as a substitute for effort and wisdom.
In addition to the changes in the education ecosystem, he also expressed concern over the widespread negative influences such as the symptoms of drug abuse, electronic cigarettes or 'vapes', which have a negative impact in terms of health, academic performance and reputation of students. Symptoms of bullying also need to be prevented as they affect both the victim and the bully themselves.
At this ceremony, His Majesty was pleased to receive the devotees presented by the President of the Brunei Student Association in Malaysia and the Vice-President of the Brunei Student Association in Malaysia, Awang Shaikh Muhammad Rafi'uddin Hayat bin Shaikh Haji Osman, as well as Dayang Elyana Erniza binti Haji Lamit, as the worshipper designer.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam and followed by the recitation of the holy verses of the Quran recited by Awang Muhammad Firdaus bin Muhammad Salleh from the International Islamic University Malaysia while the essence was delivered by Awang Muhammad Fawwaz bin Daud from KPJ Healthcare University.
The Doa Selamat was then recited by the Government Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr.) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
The President of the Brunei Students' Association in Malaysia, in his welcome prayer, expressed his gratitude to the Council of His Majesty for the opportunities, facilities, support and assistance extended by His Majesty's Government to the students studying in Malaysia.
The Majlis Bersama Rakyat this time was enlivened by performances from the students of Brunei Darussalam in Malaysia, which also became a sweet memory for the 1,082 students as well as the people and residents of Brunei Darussalam who were present because they had the opportunity to face the Front of the Council under DYMM.
