On 14 Rabiulakhir 1447 equivalent to 6 October 2025, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah held a Thanksgiving Prayer Ceremony in conjunction with the 33rd Anniversary of the Establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah at Dewan An-Naura, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.
His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Malik ibni Kebawah Yang Mulia Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Chairman of the Governing Body of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was pleased to attend the ceremony.
The ceremony began with a congregational Fardu Asar prayer led by His Excellency Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustapa bin Haji Murad. This was followed by the mass recitation of Surah Yasin and the recitation of the Thanksgiving Prayer in conjunction with the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation.
The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation was established with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 5 October 1992 in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of accession to the Throne. The establishment of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation is as a forum for charity or charitable donations for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Members of His Family, which is a sign of His Majesty's care and love for the people of His Majesty as well as the formation of a prosperous and prosperous society in Brunei Darussalam.
Throughout its more than three decades of journey, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has touched the lives of thousands of people and residents of Brunei Darussalam through various programmes, projects and initiatives that are in line with the purpose of its establishment, making a real impact in the fields of education, social, health as well as economic development and entrepreneurship.
Every effort implemented not only meets current needs, but also serves as a catalyst for long-term progress, in line with the aspirations of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to improve the quality of life and well-being of the people.
In any planning and implementation of its programmes, projects and activities, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah always fully supports the country's development agenda in line with the goals of Brunei Vision 2035.
Delivery of financial contributions to two NGOs
During this ceremony, His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Governing Body of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, was pleased to complete the presentation of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's financial contribution to two non-governmental organisations that operate development and rehabilitation programmes for persons with disabilities (PWD100,000.00).
This contribution is Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's concern for the welfare and well-being of the disabled who should be given guidance, education and skills so that they become successful individuals and able to contribute to society and the country. The two non-governmental organisations are Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam and Persatuan SMARTER Brunei.
Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam received a financial contribution of BND50,000.00. This donation is an annual contribution of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (for 2025) which is to support the Centre in providing services and training to special persons with disabilities in terms of personnel and intellect to enable them to reach their maximum potential. The Foundation's donation was received by His Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Senior Trustee of the Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Centre.
The Brunei SMARTER Association received a financial contribution of BND50,000.00. The donation is the Foundation's annual donation (for 2025). Of the total donation, 50% was donated to the Brunei SMARTER Association to handle special teaching and learning matters for autistic children. Meanwhile, the other 50% is for the payment of education fees charged by SMARTER Brunei to teach children with autism from low-income families. The Foundation's donation was received by His Excellency Pengiran Zamri bin Pengiran Haji Bujang, President of the Brunei SMARTER Association.
Also present at the ceremony were Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Administrative Board; Chairman and Board Members of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah; special guests; officers and staff of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah; and teachers of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation School.
