764 recipients awarded citizenship certificates

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, JUNE 26 – A total of 764 people received their citizenship certificates at the 42nd Citizenship Certificate Presentation Ceremony held at the BRIDEX Conference Hall, Jerudong, today.
The presentation of the citizenship certificates was officiated by the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
The Acting Director of Immigration and National Registration, Haji Azmi bin Haji Abdul Rahim while delivering his welcome speech expressed the hope of the recipients of the citizenship certificate to appreciate the award by pouring out their unwavering loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and will always comply with the laws and regulations in force in the country from from time to time.
He added that this event was held in the atmosphere leading up to the beginning of the Hijrah New Year 1447 and was certainly a happy day especially for all Muslims and even more meaningful for those who received citizenship certificates today.
"Hopefully, with this Hijrah New Year and with the granting of citizenship status, all of this will increase our determination and determination in fulfilling our responsibilities as citizens in pouring out services and devotion to this country that we love."
At the ceremony, a total of 764 recipients received certificates of their citizenship status which had received the blessing of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The recipients consist of those who are VIP members or have sat for and passed the test under the Brunei National Status Act, Term 15 which is under Chapter 5(1) and 8(1) of the Malay Language Test in writing and orally, Chapter 6(1) which consists of children of Brunei mothers, children of Brunei fathers and adopted children of Brunei adoptive parents as well as also under Chapter 5(6) consisting of wives of Brunei husbands.
