BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 25 – Political stability, prosperity and a peaceful life under the auspices of a wise king are the motivation for the perseverance and patience of all citizenship recipients to remain loyal to the conferment of citizenship on His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

This was emphasised by the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman when delivering a speech at the 40th Citizenship Certificate Presentation Ceremony at the Banquet Hall, BRIDEX Conference Hall, Jerudong, today.

He further explained that as a people, it is a shared responsibility to shape and develop the nation and to realize a country that is peaceful, prosperous, prosperous, resilient and achieves Brunei's Vision 2035.

"Today is a very meaningful and special day for the recipients of the citizenship certificate because it is one of the marks of the beginning of the journey as a citizen of His Majesty," he said.

As the people of His Majesty, he emphasized, we must always be grateful to Allah SWT for His bounty in giving this country a wise leader, with a noble heart and very concerned about the welfare of its people.

Yang Berhormat Dato was also informed that more than 50 per cent of the recipients of the citizenship certificate this time consisted of youths.

"As the generation that will inherit the country, it is important for the youth in particular and all the people in general to play a role in leading the country towards the development of noble human capital based on religious values, being resilient, authoritative and applying excellence for the development of the country," he added.

He also called on the certificate recipients and the community in general to support and get involved in any community activities and programmes whether at the village, sub-district, district or national level in jointly forming a developed and excellent nation, united and harmonious, prosperous and safe.

He added, "The attitude of caring must be nurtured and strengthened at the sub-district and village levels because unity is one of the contributors to the development and harmony of the country.

"It is important for future generations to uphold and maintain noble, visionary values and support the country's philosophy, which is Malay Islamic Monarchy," he explained.

In addition, he stressed, the youth in particular and the community in general, need to protect the country's good name by staying away from any immoral activities that can lead to the disharmony of a country.

"On the other hand, the youth and all the people are advised to get involved in programmes and activities run by the government through sub-district and village consultative councils," he stressed.
